Executive Director
CEE Bankwatch Network, an international environmental organisation with member groups across Central and Eastern Europe that monitors international development finance and is a member of the "Green 10", is seeking a new Executive Director.
If you have strong environmental commitment, are a proven manager, a team player with excellent oral and written communication skills, capable of successfully representing the network in a variety of arenas, and have good fundraising experience, CEE Bankwatch Network offers the opportunity to develop your abilities and knowledge in a dynamic, challenging role in one of the most successful international environmental NGOs in Central and Eastern Europe.

Position description
Location: In a country where CEE Bankwatch Network has a member group, with regular trips mainly in Europe (see a list of member group countries)
Supervisor: Executive Committee of CEE Bankwatch Network
Duration: Indefinite
Starting date: first or second quarter of 2008
Main responsibilities
Main responsibilities of the Executive Director include managing the CEE Bankwatch Network in accordance with law and Statute, resolutions of the General Meeting and decisions of Executive Committee; supervision of the Management Team; and reporting regularly to the Executive Committee and General Meeting on activities undertaken.
Key Duties
- Representing CEE Bankwatch Network.
- Forming the Management Team and coordinating its work.
- Coordinating fundraising activities of the network, including general fundraising for the organization in cooperation with appropriate staff, writing/or coordinating preparation of proposals and reports as well as maintaining and developing contacts with donors.
- Coordinating preparation and implementation of the Workplan as approved by the General Meeting.
- Coordinating preparation and implementation of the annual budget, and ensure a regular budget follow up.
- Overseeing the campaigning activities of the Network and contributing as needed.
- Overseeing or directly implementing hiring process for international staff of the organization, supervision of CEE Bankwatch Network staff.
- Attending national and international meetings related to her/his activity.
- Collecting and disseminating relevant information related to her/his scope of work.
Key Required Skills and Experience
Desirable experience
- Experience of NGO management.
- Experience of fundraising and European Commission NGO grants.
- Experience of financial management.
- Knowledge of EU issues.
- Knowledge of challenges of working with and through local, national and/or European partners.
- Experience of program planning and monitoring.
- Russian language is a plus.
