Peep Mardiste

Peep is one of the founders of the CEE Bankwatch Network. Since the organisation was founded in 1995 he has worked as Bankwatch's Estonian coordinator. Currently Peep is concentrating on EU regional policy issues and is also a member of Bankwatch's Executive Committee.
After working many years as volunteer and later Director, Peep became Chairman of the Board of Estonian Green Movement-FoE in 2002. He has also been involved in the projects of many other environmental NGOs. He was president of the Tartu Student Nature Protection Group in 1992-1996 and a Board member of the Estonian Society of Nature Conservation in 1995-2000. Peep is active in many international NGO networks and has been a member of the Board or Executive Committee of Friends of the Earth Europe, Coalition Clean Baltic and A SEED Europe.
Peep is currently running a PhD course on environmental policy at the University of Tartu.
