Alda Ozola

Alda joined CEE Bankwatch Network in 2001 as national coordinator in Latvia. Alda started her activities in environmental NGOs in 1997 when she joined Environmental Protection Club as a volunteer. Thereafter she started to work on different projects related to environmental policy integration into sector policies, monitoring of EU structural assistance and promoting NGO involvement into planning processes. In addition to working as project coordinator for several environmental NGOs her work experience includes also lecturing at the University of Latvia on international economy. Now Alda is working in Latvian Green Movement.
Since July 2004 Alda is a chairperson of Latvian Green Movement. At the moment she also holds the position of chairperson of Environmental Advisory Council that comprises environmental NGOs in Latvia willing to shape environmental policy. Alda is also a member of NGO Advisory working group on EU Structural funds.
Alda has graduated from University of Latvia and in 2003 she obtained Master degree in economy. She continues her master studies in environmental management.
Alda is married and has one daughter.
