Institute of Environmental Economics
The Institute of Environmental Economics is an environmental non-governmental organisation analysing economic aspects and measures in the field of environmental protection. Its aim is to draw attention of society, decision-makers and other non-governmental organisations to the significance of financial factors for reaching environmental protection objectives.
Since 2000, our main activities have been focused on supporting the implementation process of EU policies and legislation in the field of environmental protection and promoting public participation in EU funds programming, implementation and monitoring. Some of them include:
- analysing policies and financing measures for environmental protection infrastructure;
- analysing public participation patterns related to EU funds monitoring, advocating for changes aimed at strengthening of such participation;
- organising workshops, trainings and consultation meetings related to EU funds;
- advocating for systemic changes aimed at strengthening of the implementation of the EU environmental directives;
- initiating discussion between different stakeholders for more effective utilisation of the EU funds - organising workshops on financial and economic aspects of the EU environmental policies.
The Institute is also a member of the Coalition of Polish Environmental NGOs for EU Funds, which was set up in order to facilitate cooperation between Polish ENGOs for the benefit of more sustainable use of the EU financial assistance in our country (www.koalicjafs.org.pl).
