Eco - sense
Eco-sense was established on the 18 th of September 2002 in the Basic Court of Skopje under the Z.G. 192/02 number. Eco-sense is a nonprofit, non-governmental organization established with the aim to work on environmental issues and to initiate positive changes in that field in Macedonia .
Primary interests are solving the problems with waste management, promotion of environmentally- friendly and sustainable transport in Macedonia and the promotion of transparency in the work of International Financial Institutions (IFIs) in Macedonia, protection of the environment and cultural heritage, promotion and information dissemination about the new and sustainable ways to use energy (biogas and bio-fuel, solar energy, etc), and working on GMOs (genetically modified organisms).
Eco-sense will accomplish its goals by lobbying the Macedonian Government and IFIs for substantial changes towards informing and involving the public in their activities, inform the business sector for the need and benefits of transparency, and will achieve positive initiatives concerning energy use and waste management in Macedonia through campaigning and project implementation. Eco-sense is also helping affected communities fight against projects that have negative environmental and social impacts and promotes sustainable alternatives in order to avoid them.
